Mt. Moon

Day 5:

We healed up and made sure everything was ready in the Pokemon Center at the foot of Mt. Moon. I stepped outside, only for Jin to appear, jumping about for some reason. He said that he was going to go and enter the Pokemon Contest in Cerulean City, and he disappeared into Mt. Moon.

I shrugged, and got going into Mt. Moon soon after him.

Mt. Moon

I found my way quite easily through the first floor, and there were loads of footprints of experienced Fossil Hunters, and they all led to the stairs up to the next floor.
When I reached the stairs a mysterious trainer jumped out at me. He wanted to battle. I agreed, and sent out Kakuna. He sent out an Umbreon, which I checked out on my Pokedex. It was an evolved form of Eevee.

We battled, and Kakuna easily beat the badly trainer Umbreon. It had been evolved too soon, and didn't trust the trainer.
The mysterious trainer then threw a Pokeball at my Kakuna! I shielded it, and withdrew Kakuna. We sprinted for the stairs, and luckily the trainer didn't follow. What sort of trainer tries to catch other trainer's Pokemon? I had heard of 'Snagging', but that was only in the Orre region, and only on Shadow Pokemon.

I got to the next floor, and tried to put these thoughts to the back of my mind.

The next floor was really hard to navigate, it was so dark! Nidoran didn't know which way to go either! I though it might, as it lived near the mountain. I just headed towards the lightest part, and eventually found the exit.

Route 4: Mt. Moon Exit - Cerulean City

As soon as I had exited, some strange trainers tried to give me an item, the BlueLightBall. They said it made Pikablu more powerful. I checked out 'Pikablu' on my Pokedex, and it said that there was no such Pokemon. It was about to give the fake trainers a piece of my mind, but they had all disappeared.

I carried on through the Route, and an Old Man walked over to me. He asked about the BlueLightBall, then gave me an item called a Moon Stone. It looked a bit like this.

I put it in my bag and carried on to Cerulean, training Nidoran and Bulbasaur up along the way. I had heard that Misty was a powerful trainer, and was difficult to defeat. Brock was certainly quite hard.

We camped outside the city, ready for the next day.

But just as we were setting up the tent, a wild Oddish attacked.

Kakuna finished it off brilliantly, and started to evolve again. It's shell had been really hot lately, so I was really proud of him.

It evolved into a Beedrill, which I checked out on the Pokedex. It had learned the attack Twineedle.

Beedrill helped put up the tent, and we camped there. I was really proud of Kakuna for evolving again.

Inside Mt. Moon, I took a photo of Bulbasaur and Nidoran battling a Zubat using my Flash.

Pewter City II

Day 4:

We slept in a bit longer today, after all the hard training of yesterday. When we got up, both Bulbasaur and Kakuna wanted to challenge the gym again. So we packed everything up and made our way to Pewter again.

Pewter Gym

We arrived in the gym and challenged Brock to a rematch. Bulbasaur got hurt beating Geodude, but she eventually did KO it.
Then Brock sent out the massive Onix again. I sent out Kakuna. Both Pokemon struggled to really damage each other, until Kakuna got a hit with String Shot, and stopped Onix from moving. Kakuna then finished Onix off with some powerful Poison Stings.

Brock gave me the Boulder Badge after the battle, and I put it safely on my Trainer Card. We shook hands, and I left to heal my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center.

When I arrived at the Center, to my surprise I found Jin and Maria in there! Bulbasaur was quite badly hurt, so the Nurse took him away on a stretcher. She said she would be alright. I took a seat.

Jin said that they had been to Mt. Moon, but had come back for me. While I was waiting for my Pokemon back, both Jin and Maria disappeared again! I shrugged.

When I received my Pokemon back, we set off to Mt. Moon.

Route 3:

We walked along Route 3 for a while, then I saw a contest between two male Nidoran. They were charging at each other with their poison spikes. I decided to sketch it.

When the had finished, the loser looked really badly hurt. I took it back to Pewter Pokemon Center, where it was healed.

I returned to Route 3, but it wouldn't got back to the other Nidoran. It wanted to stay with me! I caught it in a Pokeball, and checked out it's PokeDex entry. Then we carried on to Mt. Moon.

At the foot of Mt. Moon, we stayed the night. It was going to be a hard challenge getting all the way through it, so we needed a good night's sleep.

In the gym, I took a picture of Kakuna using String Shot on Onix.

Pewter City

Day 3:

We arrived in Pewter just after the sun rose, wanting to get an early start. First I visited the Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon. Then I got out my map of the City, to see what I could do here.
There was a gym, which I hoped to beat, and a Museum. I visited the museum first, as it was supposed to be very interesting. I had once been on a day trip with my Dad to visit the Museum in Slateport, and I loved it.

Pewter Museum

I paid my entrance fee, and went to the nearest exhibit. It was a fossil of a Kabutops, an ancient Pokemon. I got out my notebook, and made notes on all the Fossilised Pokemon.

Omanyte:

One of the ancient and long-since-extinct POKéMON that have been regenerated from fossils by humans. If attacked, it withdraws into its hard shell.
A prehistoric POKéMON that lived in the primordial sea, it swims by twisting its 10 tentacles about.
Although long extinct, in rare cases, it can be genetically regenerated from fossils.

I was interested in the regegeration of Fissils, so I asked one of the scientists which lab did it. He told me that the big lab on Cinnabar Island as the best place.

Omastar:

An OMASTAR uses its tentacles to capture its prey. It is believed to have become extinct because its shell grew too large, making its movements slow and ponderous.
Its tentacles are highly developed as if they are hands and feet. As soon as it ensnares prey, it bites.
Despite having strong fangs and tentacles, it went extinct when its heavy shell made it unable to catch prey.

Kabuto:

It is a POKéMON that has been regenerated from a fossil. However, in rare cases, living examples have been discovered. KABUTO have not changed for 300 million years.
This POKéMON was regenerated from the fossil of an ancient creature. It protects itself with a hard shell.
A POKéMON that was regenerated from a fossil found in what was once the ocean floor long ago.

Kabutops:

KABUTOPS once swam underwater to hunt for prey. It was apparently evolving from being a water dweller to living on land as evident from changes in its gills and legs.
It swims freely through water. It catches prey with its scythe-like arms and drains the victim's fluids.
Its sleek shape is perfect for swimming. It slashes prey with its claws and drains their fluids.

Aerodactyl:

AERODACTYL is a POKéMON from the age of dinosaurs. It was regenerated from DNA extracted from amber. It is imagined to have been the king of the skies.
It was regenerated from a dinosaur's genetic matter that was found in amber. It flies with high-pitched cries.
A ferocious, prehistoric POKéMON that goes for the enemy's throat with its serrated, sawlike fangs.

All the Fossilised pokemon looked really interesting, and I sketched a few.

After I had finished in the museum, I left, as it was lunchtime, and Bulbasaur was getting hungry. I visited the gift shop and bought a Sticker for my Trainer Card, to show that I had visited.
We found a bench, and we all tucked in to food, sandwiches for me, PokeFood for Bulbasaur and Weedle.

When we had finished, I decided to sketch Weedle. I just had the perfect look of happiness.
When I had finished the drawing, I showed it to Weedle. It loved it. I gave Weedle a PokeTreat, and put my Sketchbook away again. I decided to go and have a go at the gym. I stood up and made my way over t the gym.

Pewter Gym:

I went into the large gym, which was dominated by the massive Boulder Stadium. Brock was stood at the back, so I walked up to him and challenged him. He agreed, and we battled.

Brock's Geodude was pretty good, and was fairly defensive. Bulbasaur did really well to KO it. The Onix was really tough. It beat Bulbasaur easily and had even less trouble dispatching Weedle. I lost, and thanked Brock for the battle. He said that Bulbasaur and Weedle were really determined! I left the gym to go and heal, then more training in Viridian Forest.

Viridian Forest:

Weedle and Bulbasaur trained lots until it was nearly dark. Just as I was about to pack up and go home, Weedle beat a Caterpie, and started to glow. His whole body changed shape! He had evolved. I got out my PokeDex, and it told me that Weedle had evolved into Kakuna. Kakuna looked really powerful. I put the PokeDex away. Surely I could beat Brock with a powerful Kakuna on my side!

We camped outside the forest, near to a small lake, for the night.

Viridian City

Day 2:

We arrived in Viridian after a good night's sleep.
I first went for a look around the city, but Jin was keen to get going on to Pewter. I told him I wanted a look around. I did a tour of the City. There wasn't much there, except a Route leading to Indigo Plateau, and a Powerful Gym. I returned to the Pokemon Center to find that Jin had left for Viridian Forest.
I headed towards Route 2, which leads to Viridian Forest, to start training Bulbasaur.

Route 2: Viridian City - Viridian Forest

I trained Bulbasaur for ages here, she was really enthusiastic. We battled loads of wild Pidgeys and Rattatas. In an especially fierce battle with a Rattata, my PokeDex started beeping.

I took it out and opened it. It said that Bulbasaur was now powerful enough to use Vine Whip. I tested it on the Rattata, and it knocked it out in one! I was really proud of Bulbasaur. She had worked really hard to learn the new attack.

Then I saw Jin's Pidgey. It seemed to want us to follow it. We followed it into Viridian Forest.

Viridian Forest

I rushed in to the Forest, wondering what was wrong with Jin. It seemed that he had slipped and broken his leg.
A trainer called Maria appeared as well, she had started just after us.

I was thinking of a way to get Jin out of the forest, when a wild Weedle attacked. Bulbasaur battled it, and I caught it!

My new Weedle was put straight into action, strapping up Jin's leg with a surprisingly powerful String Shot. All the Pokemon helped carry Jin out of the forest.

Route 2

We rested near the forest's entrance, and Jin called for an Ambulance using his cell phone. I sent out Weedle to practice String Shot a bit more. Jin's Pidgey and Charmander helped him train. When the Ambulance arrived, I chose not to get in, I wanted to go through the forest. I waved goodbye to Jin and Maria for a while, and set off into the forest, Bulbasaur and Weedle behind me.

Viridian Forest

We trained all the way through the forest, and by the time we found the exit, Weedle and Bulbasaur were looking really powerful. We exited the forest after that, to go on to Pewter. As we left the forest, the sun was just setting, so we camped just outside the forest for the night.

Just before we left the forest, I took a self photograph with the Camera my Parents gave me for becoming a Trainer. It caught Weedle using String Shot on a wild Caterpie. This is how it came out:

The Adventure Begins: Pallet Town

Day 1:

I arrived in Pallet Town, feeling a little seasick. Those long-distance ferries are really rough, but I managed. The seasickness soon wore off as I set foot in Pallet. Lot's of countryside, same as Fortree, my hometown. I was supposed to go to the newly-built Pokemon Center first, so I headed straight there.

When I arrived there was practically no-one there, except for Nurse Joy.
She handed me the Official Trainer Registration form, which I filled in. She gave me a Trainer Card, with my picture on it, but it didn't have my name on. She explained that it would be put on when I received my first Pokemon. I thanked her, and turned to leave. But then another boy arrived, just starting out as a Trainer as well. We soon became friends. His name is Jin Grapefruit, and he is from Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. We chatted for a bit.

Soon after I met Jin, another Trainer entered. He was a bit older. His name is Orethon, and he was a little bit rude when we said hello. We soon set off for the Lab, Professor Oak's lab. I knew Tracy, the legendary Pokemon Sketcher worked there. He is my hero. Anyway, we walked the short distance to the lab after being given my 5 Pokeballs.

Professor Oak's Laboratory.

He knocked on the door and Oak opened it. I was a little nervous, meeting such a great man, but he was actually really nice. We went through to the sitting room.

Jin chose Charmander as a first Pokemon, Orethon chose Squirtle, and I got my very own Bulbasaur! She is really playful and nice. He chatted a bit, and I finally got my name on my Trainer Card, in black letters. Harry Dark. I saw Tracy, and talked to him, he is as nice as everyone says he is. He gave me a few tips on sketching.

After that, we left the lab for Route 1, which led to Viridian City.

Route 1: Pallet Town - Viridian City

We walked along this route for a while, I was keeping an eye out for Berries. I had never seen any of the Kanto varieties, save for 1 which an old man had.
Jin got attacked by two Pidgeys, and I sent out Bulbasaur for her first battle. Bulbasaur was great, KOing one of the Pidgeys. Jin caught the other one. I think me and Bulbasaur are gonna get along really well.

We made it all the way to Viridian City after that, I was pleased. We met Orethon again on the way, but he didn't want to travel with us. It had been a long day, so we stayed the night ijust outside Viridian.
